Egg Donation in Greece
A Comprehensive Guide for Recipients

1.Ovarian Stimulation
Donors are carefully screened to ensure they meet strict medical, genetic, and psychological criteria. They are usually aged between 19 and 35, ensuring their eggs are of the highest quality. Greek law mandates donor anonymity, which means that the donor and recipient remain unknown to
each other.
2.Egg Tracking
Hormonal treatments are used to synchronize the menstrual cycles of the donor and the recipient, optimizing the timing for embryo transfer.
3.Sperm Preparation
Once the donor’s eggs are mature, they are retrieved and fertilized in a laboratory setting. The sperm used for fertilization can be from the recipient’s partner or a sperm donor.
4.Insemination
The best-quality embryos are selected and transferred into the recipient’s uterus. A pregnancy test is conducted about two weeks later to determine
if the procedure was successful.
