Who is your doctor? 

Dr. Pitsos was born and raised on the island of Chios. After graduating the high school, he took the national exams and he was accepted in the Medical School University of Athens. Following his graduation, he obtained a PhD position in the Department of Histology and Embryology of the Medical School in the University of Athens. 

He developed a research project in the field of Embryology and his thesis was entitled “Study of the DNA and tubulin in the human unfertilized oocytes and preimplantation embryos with the confocal laser scanning microscope”. The thesis was evaluated with “High Honors”. It is the first research study which was undergone in Greece using this type of microscope and its findings were published internationally. Results of his PhD thesis and other research projects have been announced in international medical conferences, and published in medical journals and books. 
After obtaining his PhD degree, he was accepted in the USA to do his residency in obstetrics and gynecology. He completed his residency at the University of New Jersey (UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ – USA). The residency program has one of the highest volumes of patients in the USA. Therefore, he is very well trained in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology including, infertility, assisted reproduction, laparoscopic surgery, operative hysteroscopy, high risk pregnancy, colposcopy, urogynecology.
He practices obstetrics and Gynecology in Athens Greece. He has privileges in the best private women hospitals in Athens and he is affiliated with Embryoland Fertility Center.

Dr Pitsos holds medical license to practice Ob/Gyn in USA (state of Connecticut).

He is a member of American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Greek Society for Assisted Reproduction.
